- Abstract data on map (opposed to maps for navigation)
- Some tasks can adequately be addressed with improved table tools
E.g. "Find the state with the maximum unemployement?" (sort function)
- Others are very difficult with tables:
e.g. "Find global patterns, clusters, exceptions".
- Expands on the work done on sonification of tables, graphs (see work of
S. Brewster, J. Flowers, etc.)
