Help : Search/Inspect Form

The Search / Inspect form is used to indicate which subject or subjects you want to view. If you enter an expression which could match many subjects (such as a word), a search for matching subjects is begun. If you enter an RDF subject name (eg a URI), then information about that object is displayed.

Examples:

Type Search / Inspect text What Happens
Text Search protein All strings in the database are searched for the string "protein". The result is a list of subjects which have a property whose value contains the string.
QName Inspect rdf:type The QName is expanded using a built-in table of namespaces to the URI http://www.w3.org/1999/02/22-rdf-syntax-ns#type; then a URI inspection is done, as below
URI Inspect http://www.w3.org/1999/ 02/22-rdf-syntax-ns#type The URI names the thing (the subject, the resource) you want to look at. Information about the thing is gathered and displayed, starting with a summary, and then offering tabbed views for more details.
