MEP: we do not want to use XML for the schedule. we use SMIL fro internal
structure. we do not want to write a complete xml document for the schedule.

MEP: yes, absolute timers

cedric ulmer: why defining your own langage instead of UIML ?
GH: we wanted to be more flexible. starting point 2000, UIML at starting
stage too, so there was no standardized langage for UI description.
