The Resource Description Framework (RDF)
- W3C's XML-encoded metadata language
- RDF vocabulary namespaces (eg. DC, EXIF-in-RDF, XMP, Geo, FOAF, Events) mix freely
- Emphasis on data merging and classification
- Based on a graph data-model (triples)
- Used in SVG <metadata/> element
- Query language work beginning but no standard APIs yet
