The WebApps WG has a Charter that runs through 31 May 2014. This document contains potential charter changes to consider if/when the WG re-charters.
Potential Spec Additions
Note: in some cases, the items in the following list are already in scope for the WG but the current charter does not explicitly identify them (e.g. HTML Templates is part of the WG's Web Components deliverable.
- AppCache NG - during the group's TPAC 2012 f2f meeting, the group agreed to work on the next version of AppCache
- Beacon API - see discussion on public-webapps mail list. This could become part of the XHR spec.
- HTML Templates - part of the group's Web Components deliverable. This spec is already a Technical Report.
- Streams API - this spec is already a Technical Report
Potential Deletions
- Abandoned work - remove this section of the spec (3.1.2) or if the group agrees to new deletions, add them to this section
- From-Origin - remove references to this spec since the group agreed to stop working on it
- URL - remove this spec is no one commits to being a lead Editor
- Web Intents - remove this spec if we do not have firm commitments for two or more independent implementations
Potential Clarifications
- View Orientation API - change this to Screen Orientation API and a link to this later spec
- Update the Schedule table (Section 3.3)
- Make Web Components a first-class deliverable and remove references to XBL2
- Add SysApps WG to the list of WG liaisons
- Regarding specs/features that are part of the HTML5 and proposed to move to WebApps - the charter isn't clear about whether the AC review for such items requires the WG be re-chartered or not. [ArtB]
