Why Director Review Before FPWD

Q: Why is there a requirement for the Director to review and approve a document proposed for a First Public Working Draft (FPWD)?

A: The reason for FPWD review is for the Director to confirm that the proposed draft is in scope for the charter of the working group that proposed it. -Ian Jacobs
