Talk:The HTML head element

Future updates

UPDATE - 4th August 2011: updated to clean up language, add new HTML5 features, and add in new section about doctypes, to replace Choosing the right doctype for your HTML documents. QUESTION - should this big new doctype section be put into a new article? Does it make the article a bit too long? This is now ready to translate/proof.

-- NEEDS UPDATING, AND HTML5 FEATURES ADDING, SUCH AS META CHARSET

Also update info about lang attribute. A recent comment on the dev.opera version: "I think one of the biggest mistakes that people make is that they forget to include lang tag at the beginning of the html document. If you don't do it, Google along with other search engines might find it difficult to crawl your site or take longer than anticipated. Just my two cents."
