iPhone App Use Case

Editor: Donald Doherty

This use case explores integrating HCLSIG BioRDF demonstrations into iPhone applications. In particular there has been discussion around integrating the Semantic Web federation of microarray data and related data into the SemanticWb iPhone application.

The SemanticWb application was written and deployed by Donald Doherty to test the feasibility of direct, unmediated, access to linked health care and life sciences data from the Semantic Web using SPARQL queries and to process the returned data using a limited amount of computer power. This program is ideal for testing and demonstrating new ideas and Semantic Web implementations in the mobile environment.

On March 8, 2010 Donald Doherty gave a demonstration of SemanticWb version 2.1 beta to HCLSIG BioRDF. Download screen shots of the SemanticWb demo from here.

With SemanticWb for Health Care and Life Sciences version 2.2 the application has been upgraded to a professional application meant to provide quick answers in health care and life sciences.
