http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=8461

Summary: valid MIME type vs parameters
           Product: HTML WG
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Windows NT
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: HTML5 spec bugs
        AssignedTo: dave.null@w3.org
        ReportedBy: julian.reschke@gmx.de
         QAContact: public-html-bugzilla@w3.org
                CC: ian@hixie.ch, mike@w3.org, public-html@w3.org

"4.8.5 The object element

...

The type attribute, if present, specifies the type of the resource. If
present, the attribute must be a valid MIME type, optionally with parameters."

But "valid MIME type" is defined earlier on as

"A string is a valid MIME type if it matches the media-type rule defined in
section 3.7 "Media Types" of RFC 2616. [HTTP]"

...which already allows parameters.
