http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=6312

           Summary: [XQuery11] syntax error in example
           Product: XPath / XQuery / XSLT
           Version: Working drafts
          Platform: PC
               URL: http://www.w3.org/TR/2008/WD-xquery-11-20081203/#id-try-
                    catch
        OS/Version: Windows XP
            Status: NEW
          Severity: minor
          Priority: P2
         Component: XQuery 1.1
        AssignedTo: jonathan.robie@redhat.com
        ReportedBy: andrew.eisenberg@us.ibm.com
         QAContact: public-qt-comments@w3.org

One of the examples in 3.12 Try/Catch Expressions reads:

define function local:thrice($x as xs:integer) as xs:integer
{
    3*$x
};

local:thrice(try { "oops" } catch * { 3 } )

The "define function" should be "declare function".
