2.5.3 Typed Value and String Value

"Every node has a typed value and a string value, except for nodes whose value
is absentDM31. [Definition: The typed value of a node is a sequence of atomic
values and can be extracted by applying the fn:data function to the node.]
[Definition: The string value of a node is a string and can be extracted by
applying the fn:string function to the node.] Definitions of fn:data and
fn:string can be found in [XQuery and XPath Functions and Operators 3.1]."

"absentDM31" is an example of the type of direct link I am advocating.

In the same paragraph: [XQuery and XPath Functions and Operators 3.1] which
could be:

fn: data - http://www.w3.org/TR/xpath-functions-31/#func-data

fn: string - http://www.w3.org/TR/xpath-functions-31/#func-string
