Re: Closing Issue 188: When should xml declarations appear in examples?

Given that proper use of  the properties in question is carefully 
described in [2], I find this resolution acceptable.  Thank you!

Noah,

The XML Protocol Working Group have closed Issue 188[1] with the following
resolution:

The attributes found in the XML declaration, namely version, encoding and
standalone are modelled in the infoset as the [version], [character 
encoding
scheme] and [standalone] properties of the Document Information Item. 
Having
XML declarations in examples is thus completely coherent.

I would also note that the latest editor's copy[2] makes explicit 
reference
to the infoset properties listed above.

If you have any objection to the above resolution it would be helpful for
the Working Group to receive such feedback as soon as possible.
