I18N-ISSUE-466: Can JSON data be generated from non UTF-8 encoded CSV data ⓟ [tabular-data-json] http://www.w3.org/International/track/issues/466 Raised by: Steven Atkin On product: tabular-data-json 4.2 Generating JSON http://www.w3.org/TR/2015/WD-csv2json-20150416/#generating-json There is no mention of whether or not CSV data must be encoded in UTF-8. The model for tabular data indicates that non UTF-8 CSV data should specify the charset in the Content-Type header. See 7.2 Encoding http://www.w3.org/TR/2015/WD-tabular-data-model-20150416/#encoding Does the specification permit the generation of JSON data from non UTF-8 CSV data?
