[battery] First stab at the test suite, how to test hardware interaction?

Hi All,

I started working on a test suite for the Battery Status API:

The test suite is work in progress, as you probably notice.

Next, I'll need to figure out how to test hardware interaction. It will get interesting without real hardware to test on (or even with it, watching the battery deplete slow-ly).

For this reason, I've been looking at alternative ways how to tackle this. I noticed Mozilla guys were planning to work around this with an emulator (specifically QEMU). Does any of the Mozilla participants have more recent status than the following?

Lastly, thanks Marcos and Robin for paving the cowpath with Proximity Events, Ambient Light and Vibration tests. Many of the existing test cases were re-usable.

Tracker, this is about ACTION-523.
