MIME and the web next steps: review new media type reg process?

As part of wrapping up the TAG's "product" on MIME and the web (ACTION-636)

I wonder if other TAG members want to have a TAG-specific review of:
http://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-ietf-appsawg-media-type-regs-01

"Media Type Specifications and Registration Procedure"
(of which there is a Feb 4, 2012 draft).

This document is a work item of the IETF Applications Area Working Group.
http://tools.ietf.org/wg/appsawg/
mailing list archive
http://www.ietf.org/mail-archive/web/apps-discuss/current/maillist.html

One current issue being discussed is "+exi" (the use of EXI serialization instead of
+xml, which is, after all, W3C work.)

Note that
Appendix B lists some "Open Issues".
Appendix C lists "Changes since RFC 4288", and there are some significant ones.

The document makes specific mention of other "standards bodies" who are allowed to
register media types in the "standards" tree, with W3C being one of the organizations
currently considered.

The document is 29 pages.

The Paris IETF meeting the week preceding the TAG F2F in Sophia Antipoles might
be an opportunity for TAG members attending IETF to discuss the document in person.
