Re: Audio-ISSUE-12 (Joe Berkovitz): Loop start/stop points [Web Audio API]

Hi all,

We discussed ISSUE-12 during our teleconference call yesterday.
http://www.w3.org/2012/05/02-audio-minutes.html#item02

I will let Joe or Chris correct me if I am mistaken, but I believe the discussion got us to the following point:

* There is a clear agreement on the need for a loop start/stop control
* The noteOn/noteOff methods could be used for this, but their name are unfortunate
* There is a tentative consensus around "start" and "stop" methods

If we are to resolve this issue with the addition of the start/stop methods, we will need to decide what to do with the noteOn/noteOff ones. Several options were considered:

1) Keep the noteOn/noteOff methods as deprecated (which would be a little strange in a first official version of the spec)
2) Remove them altogether (which may be a problem given the many implementations of the draft spec)
3) Keep them but mention that they may be deprecated in the future, and that start/stop is preferred
