As Julian's e-mail suggested, this concept has been discussed in passing
in a number of communities across the web for at least two years. It
doesn't just have the possibility of being a lone alternate mechanism,
but a mechanism that Microformats, Microdata and RDFa could each use if
they chose to do so.

This very mechanism has been discussed in the RDFa Task Force before,
and because of that, I think that RDFa 1.1 could adopt this @profile
mechanism (for solving the default prefix problem, the predefined
keyword problem, or both).

In other words, RDFa, Microformats, and possibly even Microdata, could
share the same mechanism for triggering generation of objects(uF),
items(Microdata), or triples(RDFa).
