Thanks for your comment.  The SVG WG will discuss it and get back to you
soon.  You can tack it here:

At the very least, having links or an overview that points between those
interfaces would be nice.  I don't know the reason for them being
separate, so I don't know if they can be merged; we will look at that.
(I'm all for simplifying where we can.)
