The example is now well-formed and A request to Sun has been put in to register 'application/java-archive'.

The Working Group never addressed the latter part of the comment and the
example is not actually well-formed, the markup as weird <br></br>
markup in the pre element and namespace declarations as text content of
the <svg> element.
