Request regarding late ARIA Last Call Comments

Colleagues:

The WAI Protocols and Formats Working Group is grateful for the many
excellent comments we've recieved since our ARIA Last Call announcement.
We have recieved well over 200 comments since our Last Call announcement
(with its amended comments due date of 17 April 2009):
http://www.w3.org/mid/20090303014205.GB7282@sonata.rednote.net

Since we have recieved a significant volume of comments, and since we
continue to recieve comments even though we are now well past our
comment due date, we would like to clarify our process for addressing
them.

1.) All comments recieved by 17 April 2009 will be addressed first.

2.) Additional comments recieved no later than 24 June 2009 will be
addressed as we are able to do so following our disposition of comments
recieved by 17 April. If you are reviewing ARIA and intend to comment,
we urgently request you provide us your comments no later than 24 June.

3.) Any comments recieved after 24 June will be addressed only as
time allows, and only after all comments recieved by 24 June have been
addressed.

Because we must carefully avoid conflicts and insure our consensus
resolutions are consistent, it is necessary to have the full set of
comments available for consideration at one time. Thus, comments
arriving later can only be accepted if they do not impact resolutions
made to earlier comments. This is the reason we must place these time
limits on comments.

PS: PF is planning to announce an on line, public comment tracking
interface later this month that will provide a window onto our process
and current status data for ARIA comments.
