Re: [css3-background] - border-image-slice inconsistent should behave like edge shorthands

My mistake, I read it too quickly and thought they all said "...is the same as the first."

I think I have been spending too much time reading these specifications as I noticed that this phrasing was different from the phrasing used on the other properties and so assumed that it behaved differently too.

Is there any particular reason why it does not use the same phrasing as the edge shorthands, which seems to be clearer (at least to me) than the current phrasing?
