I appreciate that the publication of the HTML 5 specification is taking quite a bit longer than many working group participants are comfortable with. Over the last week or two, I consulted with various parts of W3C management, including Tim Berners-Lee, and we are agreed on the importance of the heartbeat rule... http://www.w3.org/2005/10/Process-20051014/groups.html#three-month-rule .. and its application to the release of the HTML 5 specification. Working from the date of our previous publication... http://www.w3.org/TR/2007/WD-html-design-principles-20071126/ http://www.w3.org/TR/html-design-principles/ ... and adding 3 months, we get: 2007-11-26 + 3 months = 2007-02-26 for a deadline for publication for the HTML 5 specification. The W3C Director, Tim Berners-Lee, sees no reason why this working group should be excused further from the three-month heartbeat rule, and further, encourages us to publish sooner if at all possible. I suggest this discharges my action...
