How can I refresh my session in servletls from my server program?

Hi!
    I use the session-tracking capability in servlets.But I need a non-standard way to refresh it before it timeout,that is by send another HTTP request.
I wonder if I can refresh session from my server side's program.Does anybody know that? It's appreciated
