WAI Site Redesign Open Issues Notes

In Progress

  1. revised form
  2. font face and font sizing
  3. style sheet open issues and cleanup

Under Discussion

  1. complete paratmeters for new translations (content on those apges)
  2. compelte paramters for listing translations in page (for /intro/ docs, quicktips, etc.)
  3. coordinate w/ Ivan, Richard, & translators list
  4. ...

  1. clean up CSS
  2. change CSS so logos don't scale, but bridge either gets cut off, or scales
  3. tweaks and browser bugs/inconsistent rendering:
    • +++ http://www.w3.org/WAI/intro/wcag10.php images not displaying in WinFF [jb23j&rs27j]
    • +++ on home page, sidebar under nav box in Mozilla [jb23j&rs27j]
    • + a colours in footer
    • + fix it so the <h2> underlines don't go into the right columns box
    • top border of #subhomenav not rendering in WinIE -currently hack puts bottom border on #w3cnav
    • In Opera [win, old], the "underlines" in the left nav are appearing as "overlines" e.g. above each nav item, when hovering [jb23j]
    • - system colour for #controls background? [see e-mail from Michael Cooper]
    • - make >> orange in changedesign
  4. troubleshoot RSS missing from browser address field
  5. link elements - next, previous, up, home, search, copyright, first, last...
  6. cleanup metadata throughout

Visual Design

  1. (CSS picker offering alternatives under discussion)
  2. clearer visual highlight with tab focus
  3. consider hover/focus something for the links (e.g., border or background colour)
  4. consider background color or something along full height of left column (e.g., to help orientation with screen magnification)
  5. consider moving the >> just ot the left of the text, rather than along the left edge & including on home page
  6. photos for WAI contacts, WAI groups, & others
  7. images for guid & tech, managing, eval, etc.
  8. consider refinements to existing (low priority)
    • 3-d line under controls
    • perhaps 3-d border around nav main level
    • main is behind nav (apparent when tried to use border & background in anno css)
    • carry arc from bridge theme through - perhaps top &/or bottom of boxes, bullets ?

Longer Term & Lower Priority

  1. better search, field on each page, accessible XHTML results, etc.
  2. consider expanding & collapsing site map
  3. add top of page links - visual design & markup & page updating
  4. " missing for <q> in IE (e.g., Tim quote on home page)
  5. [wai] icon with title in URI field
  6. gooble-de-gook $Date: 2012/01/26 20:03:31 $
  7. Annotated Nav. Page Titles - putting the power words first.
