General changes
Note that in integrating comments, the editors did their best to
integrate only those suggestions available on mailing lists and to
ensure that new guidelines were introduced as Priority 2 or Priority
3.
- Removed implementation-specific language wherever possible.
- In most places where the user was supposed to be able to "turn off"
something, the user can now it "turn on/off".
Specific changes
- 3.3 Definition of terms "current view", current focus, and
current user selection
- 3.4 Addition of a section on alternate text and description links
- 3.5 Addition of section on Dependent and Independent User Agents
(those that rely on rendering by another UA and those that
don't). This distinction is interesting, but not elaborated
in this draft of the document. The editors hope to work
on this more in the near future.
- 4.1.1. Added hover to list of controlled presentation features.
- 4.2.1 Guideline allowing users to specify where and how alt
representations of information are presented (none, one,
many simultaneously).
- 4.2.2 Guideline to turn on/off D-links
- 4.3.3 New guideline on rendering image map (AREA element) Alt-text.
- Merged several guidelines when closely related (e.g., Images 4.3,
Applets 4.5).
- 4.6.1 New guideline on rendering table summary information

guideline about restoring the view is moved to 6.3.2 (navigation)

document has been viewed.
- 5.3.3 Explicit guidelines about distinguishing visited from
unvisited links
- 5.3.4 Guideline about borders around images used in links.
- 6.2 Added strategies for different types of hierarchical navigation:
sibling only or parent-child (up-down).
- 6.6 New guideline about table cell navigation.

be accessible.
