For Consideration

  • [not good] Monday 5 Nov is Unity day in Russia. is right after TPAC.

  • [not an option] Monday 12 Nov is a "bank holiday" in US (Veterans Day observed)

  • [probably OK] Monday 19 Nov is close to a big take-off "bank holiday" in the US (Thanksgiving on 22 Nov), but probably OK. is Discovery Day in Puerto Rico.

  • [not good] Monday 26 Nov is close to a big take-off "bank holiday" in the US (Thanksgiving on 22 Nov) - most people will be back but likely would miss an early telecon. Shadi might be on the road.

  •  ?30 Nov-2 Dec is OzeWAI

  • [good - unless Shadi is on the road] Monday 3 December is International Day of Persons with Disabilities and probably good to tie into
  • Monday 3 December - found no other significant holidays. Shadi might be on the road.

  • [probably good] Monday 10 December is Human Rights Day 2012 and probably good to tie into
  • Monday 10 December - is Constitution Day in Thailand

  • [maybe not good] Monday 17 December - found no significant holidays, but close to end-of-year holidays

Draft Timeline for Topics 3 & 4 on 19 Nov & 3 Dec

Planning Timeline TC4R Dates E2R Dates Notes
-16+ weeks - finalize topic, editors, and planning committee; write up initial info; draft pre-call & approve in RDWG done: April asap
-15+ weeks - announce pre-notification of call for papers done: 12 June n/a
-13+ weeks - announce call for papers; scientific committee (SC) confirmed 20 August 20 August and do one or two reminders in early Sept.
- 9 weeks - deadling for paper submissions; start review and discussion among SC 17 Sept 17 Sept 3 weeks instead of 2 for extra discussion on which papers to put in which of the 2 symposia - so dates above moved a week earlier
- 6 weeks - send paper authors feedback, start of rebuttal period; announce program 8 Oct 8 Oct - 22 Oct E2R could be 8 Oct to match TC4R, or could be as late as 22 Oct
- 3 weeks - deadline for final papers 29 Oct 29 Oct - 12 Nov (E2R depends on when set previous date - probably have different deadlines for TC4F and E2R for people who have papers in both)
- 2 weeks - publication of accepted papers; registration opens 5 Nov 20 Nov (for E2R, 19 Nov would be 2-weeka, but that is the TC4R symposium, so set E2R the week before or day after - probably the day after to limit confusion)
Day X - teleconference symposium Mon 19 Nov Mon 3 Dec

3 Dec is International Day of Persons with Disabilities

OLD Draft Timeline for Topics 3 & 4 on 5 Nov & 3 Dec

NOTE: This is probably not wise given the CfP goes out in August, during heavy vacation time -- and also, probably cannot get the CfPs both done by then.
