Methodology

This methodology is based on Paul Cotton's August 14, 2010 email.

Bugzilla's search result can be download in an XML format or CSV file. This permits the use of XPath/XQuery or a spreadsheet program to compute statistics.

A CSV file from a Modified Bugzilla search was used to generate the CSV. It was imported into Excel and used to compute the number of bugs and their age.

The resulting spreadsheet was formatted for use in this Wiki.

Notes

Bug 7260 is ignored which is about an A11Y test suite. There are also 3 "open" (REOPENED) much older A11Y bugs which are not include these in computing the "age" value above since they are quite a bit older and would have biased the statistic.

Four A11Y bugs resolved since the beginning of April:

  1. Bug 9437 is marked as RESOLVED but it was escalated as ISSUE-109
  2. Bug 9485 was REJECTED
  3. Bug 9804 was a DUPLICATE
  4. Bug 9835 was created to be a bug related to ISSUE-66. When the W3C WG accepted this bug the Editor made a change to the W3C spec but NOT make the same change to the WHAT WG specification.

Conclusion

This research seems to indicate that very few if any A11Y bugs have been processed since the beginning of April 2010.
