The W3C Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) held a full day Web Accessibility Best Practices Exchange Training on 6 July 2004 in Paris, France, as part of the WAI-TIES Project (WAI - Training, Implementation, Education, Support). The training preceded the ICCHP 2004 conference; the facility was provided by Université Pierre et Marie Curie and additional logistical help was provided by BrailleNet.

The hands-on Web accessibility evaluation training (in English) covered the following topics:

While participation was open to anyone interested in Web development, the event was specifically designed for experienced Web developers with basic knowledge of Web accessibility and little or no experience in Web accessibility evaluation. We especially encouraged participation from representatives of governmental or non-profit organizations and from different regions and languages in Europe.

Presentation summaries from the Training are linked from their session titles in the list below:

Registration and the waiting list closed on Friday 18 June.

Future WAI Web accessibility training sessions will be announced on the WAI home page and the WAI IG mailing list.
