Notes:

Resuming after crash.

WCAG 1 has lasted for five years the way it was written was dated. The scope

JR Ð How seriously should 0ne take this reorginzation with the level of conformance.

MM Ð LetÕs put it this way, this is reorg 4 or 5.

TB Ð Do you see 3 conformance levels

XX Ð part of the problem is weÕre trying to get the best of both worlds, I would say this is the best yet.

JT Ð Getting rid of multiple layers such as core practices and techniques.

XX Ð what they are trying to get rid of is fact of best practice and extended optional that you didnÕt have to do. It was just getting horrible messy.

ACTION: 3.1 add the reference to WCAG and for 2.2 switch from single priority to relative priority.

JT Ð We are not going to see a WCAG 2.0 soon

XX Ð No

ACTION: Matt review proposed wording checkpoint 4.x is a checkpoint or definition.

ACTION: Jan wording on success criteria

JT Ð We are talking about making our techniques document version dependent.

JT Ð Even internally youÕre attempting to become independent ofÉ
So what do we do about the relative priorities.

JR Ð I think weÕre fine actually. IN the referencxe document we still talk about WCAG 1.0 and we still talk about ACAG, because the reference document is a note we can superscede it at any time.

MM Ð Is there a reference to this note (the ATAG note) I need some guidance as what to point to.

JR Ð The ATAG 2 references to WCAG. You can find references in the document Matt sent out this afternoon.

MM Ð I am looking WCAG - refs.

JR Ð ItÕs like the 5th item.

JT Ð WeÕll email it to you. Further impressions WCAG, ATAG call?

JR Ð We should lean on the editors.

JT Ð There is a coordination group. I will bring it up.

TB Ð I was interested in what was going on in that techniques subgroup.

KH Ð There is an urgent agenda item. On Wednesday, we are talking about testing (Euroaccessiblity ?)

JT Ð Tim are you able to attend that

TB Ð I would be interested if okay with Wendy.

JR Ð IÕll get Chris Redpath to get that to you.

JT Ð We will move on to next agenda item. Phil did send information of the ISO Standard and we

Kip Ð I donÕt have further information. I apologize I am not prepared as I would like to be. I need to take a read through of ISO 6471. I will need two weeks.

JT Ð LetÕs put it on the next call. Has anyone looked thourhg this and given any thought, is it adequate for our purposes.

TB = I havenÕt looked through it sufficiently. Do we want to replicate what was in the IBM accessibility guidelines.

JT Ð We originally had in ATAG 1.o a listing of principles of accessible software.

TB Ð Does the ISO document have a list of

ACTION: Look at ATAG 1.0 principles of accessible software.

Kip Ð I certainly hope the ISO document is sufficient. If we can use work that has already been done.

KH Ð I believe it is available.

ACTION: Investigate availability of ISO documents Karen

JT Two items left Ð Face to face planning and techni

ACTION: Jan will put together list for techniques document work planning

JT Ð Face to Face. Talked about possibility of collocating with ATIA. We missed deadline for plenary. We could unofficially collocate with ATIA. That has been done in the past . There are risks and benefits.

Or we have it in such a way that people who attend ATIA can go prior or after.

Third option was to have it at another time of place completely.

Kip another suggestion was to have it hosted at IBM in Austin.

Kip Ð LetÕs float that as a trial balloon to see if Austin could be a location for the crew.

ACTION: Kip will look into IBM Austin as a site to host next meeting.

JT Ð The Monday following the ATIA meetings. After ATIA would mean the Sunday, Monday.

ACTION: Jutta will contact ATIA for help in having a meeting room at ATIA.

JT Ð WeÕll speak to everyone in two weekÕs time and please look at the list for volunteer assignments.
