This page lists the potential scribes for the ERT WG. If your name is on the top of the list, your are the next person to scribe a teleconference. After you scribe a teleconference call, your name will be moved to the bottom of the list.

How To Scribe Teleconferences

On IRC (Internet Relay Chat) you can make use of two IRC Bots which help track the agenda and generate the minutes (visit IRC Help for more information on IRC):

Zakim IRC Bot: Actually Zakim is the W3C Teleconference Bridge but it has an IRC interface. Please see the description of the Zakim IRC commands for more information.
RRS Agent: RRSAgent generates minutes in HTML from the text typed into an IRC channel. Please see the description of RRSAgent commands for more information

In order to scribe a teleconference you need to do the following:

Before the teleconference starts:

Bring the Bots into the IRC channel

/invite Zakim #er
/invite RRSAgent #er
```
Tell Zakim the name of the teleconference
```
Zakim, this will be ERT
```

Load the agenda items into Zakim

Agenda+ <agenda item pasted from e-mail>

Configure the log parameters for RRSAgent

Meeting: ERT WG
Agenda: <URL of Agenda in mailing list archive>
Scribe: <IRC name of Scribe>
Chair: <name of the meeting Chair>
Regrets: <list of names that sent regrets to the mailing list>

Minuting the discussions:

Track agenda items using Zakim's features

Zakim, take up agendum <number of agenda item>

Summarize the contribution of participants

<initials of speaker>: <contribution of speaker>

Record action items for participants

ACTION: <complete but minimal summary of the action item>

Close agenda items after discussions end

Zakim, close agendum <same number of agenda item>

Managing the participation:
- Label unidentified participants on the call as they join
```
Zakim, <unidentified number such as ??P15 or +123.aaa> is really <name of the participant>
```
- Remove speakers from the queue after their contribution
```
ack <name>
```
  (participants can add themselves to the queue using q+ <name>)
After the teleconference ends
- Command RRSAgent to generate the minutes
```
RRSAgent, make minutes
```
- Remove Bots from the IRC channel
```
Zakim, bye
RRSAgent, bye
```
