We, W3C Member(s) and authors of the following specification, BEA Systems, IBM, Progress Software, Software AG, TIBCO Software and WSO2, along with W3C Member Sun Microsystems hereby submit to the Consortium the following specification, comprising the following document(s) attached hereto:

  1. SOAP over Java Message Service
which is referred to as "the Submission". We request the Submission be known as the SOAP-JMS Submission.

Abstract

The SOAP over Java Message Service (SOAP-JMS) document specifies how SOAP should bind to a messaging system that supports the Java Message Service ( JMS). Binding is specified for both SOAP 1.1 and SOAP 1.2 using the SOAP 1.2 Protocol Binding Framework. Copyrights

BEA Systems
BEA hereby grants to the W3C a perpetual, nonexclusive, royalty-free, world-wide right and license under any BEA copyrights on this contribution, to copy, publish and distribute the contribution under the W3C document licenses.
Additionally, should the Submission be used as a contribution towards a W3C Activity, BEA grants a right and license of the same scope to any derivative works prepared by the W3C and based on, or incorporating all or part of, the contribution. BEA further agrees that any derivative works of this contribution prepared by the W3C shall be solely owned by the W3C
IBM
IBM hereby grants to the W3C a perpetual, nonexclusive, royalty-free, world-wide right and license under any IBM copyrights on this contribution, to copy, publish and distribute the contribution under the W3C document licenses.
Additionally, should the Submission be used as a contribution towards a W3C Activity, IBM grants a right and license of the same scope to any derivative works prepared by the W3C and based on, or incorporating all or part of, the contribution. IBM further agrees that any derivative works of this contribution prepared by the W3C shall be solely owned by the W3C.
Progress Software
Progress Software hereby grants to the W3C a perpetual, nonexclusive, royalty-free, world-wide right and license under any Progress Software copyrights on this contribution, to copy, publish and distribute the contribution under the W3C document licenses. Additionally, should the Submission be used as a contribution towards a W3C Activity, Progress Software grants a right and license of the same scope to any derivative works prepared by the W3C and based on, or incorporating all or part of, the contribution. Progress Software further agrees that any derivative works of this contribution prepared by the W3C shall be solely owned by the W3C.
Software AG
Software AG hereby grants to the W3C a perpetual, nonexclusive, royalty-free, world-wide right and license under any Software AG copyrights on this contribution, to copy, publish and distribute the contribution under the W3C document licenses.
Additionally, should the Submission be used as a contribution towards a W3C Activity, Software AG grants a right and license of the same scope to any derivative works prepared by the W3C and based on, or incorporating all or part of, the contribution. Software AG further agrees that any derivative works of this contribution prepared by the W3C shall be solely owned by the W3C.
Sun Microsystems, Inc.
Sun Microsystems hereby grants to the W3C a perpetual, nonexclusive, royalty-free, world-wide right and license under any Sun Microsystems copyrights on this contribution, to copy, publish and distribute the contribution under the W3C document licenses.
Additionally, should the Submission be used as a contribution towards a W3C Activity, Sun Microsystems grants a right and license of the same scope to any derivative works prepared by the W3C and based on, or incorporating all or part of, the contribution. Sun Microsystems further agrees that any derivative works of this contribution prepared by the W3C shall be solely owned by the W3C.
TIBCO Software
TIBCO Software hereby grants to the W3C a perpetual, nonexclusive, royalty-free, world-wide right and license under any TIBCO Software copyrights on this contribution, to copy, publish and distribute the contribution under the W3C document licenses. Additionally, should the Submission be used as a contribution towards a W3C Activity, TIBCO Software grants a right and license of the same scope to any derivative works prepared by the W3C and based on, or incorporating all or part of, the contribution. TIBCO Software further agrees that any derivative works of this contribution prepared by the W3C shall be solely owned by the W3C
WSO2
WSO2 hereby grants to the W3C a perpetual, nonexclusive, royalty-free, world-wide right and license under any WSO2 copyrights on this contribution, to copy, publish and distribute the contribution under the W3C document licenses. Additionally, should the Submission be used as a contribution towards a W3C Activity, WSO2 grants a right and license of the same scope to any derivative works prepared by the W3C and based on, or incorporating all or part of, the contribution. WSO2 further agrees that any derivative works of this contribution prepared by the W3C shall be solely owned by the W3C Trade and Service Marks The Submission request or Submission refers to the following trade and service marks (registered or not): none.

The organization I represent on the W3C Advisory Committee agrees to offer licenses according to the W3C Royalty-Free licensing requirements described in section 5 of the 5 February 2004 W3C Patent Policy for any portion of the Submission that is subsequently incorporated in a W3C Recommendation.
IBM
The organization I represent on the W3C Advisory Committee agrees to offer licenses according to the W3C Royalty-Free licensing requirements described in section 5 of the 5 February 2004 W3C Patent Policy for any portion of the Submission that is subsequently incorporated in a W3C Recommendation.
Progress Software
The organization I represent on the W3C Advisory Committee agrees to offer licenses according to the W3C Royalty-Free licensing requirements described in section 5 of the 5 February 2004 W3C Patent Policy for any portion of the Submission that is subsequently incorporated in a W3C Recommendation.
Software AG

Suggested action

We suggest that the Consortium start a Working Group whose mission is to produce a W3C Recommendation for SOAP-JMS by refining the Submission, addressing implementation experience and interoperability feedback from the Submission.
