ISSUE-334: counter-reset: page

counter-reset: page

State:
RAISED
Product:
CSS3 Paged Media
Raised by:
Simon Sapin
Opened on:
2013-06-04
Description:
Use case: reset the page counter at some point in the document.

The current scoping rule does not allow resetting with a property applied to an element: this just creates a counter scoping context different from that of @page and resets a different counter.

Resetting in @page is tricky, even with named paged, because we only want to reset on one given page. We’d need a variant of the :first pseudo-class in page selectors that selects the first of a sequence of pages with the same 'name'.
