This hotel is located right by St. Mark Square (it doesn't get much better than that!) and is 15 minutes by foot or by public boat from the meeting location. A special price has been arranged for this hotel of €70 for a single or €80 for a double room, with breakfast included. Reserve with a credit card and refer to the "W3C Meeting" to obtain this rate.
There are also hotels nearer to the meeting location. Use the Venice Portal site to search for hotels.
Weather
The weather looks like it will be pleasant with highs of 10°C (50°F), and lows of above freezing.
Airport
The closest airport is Venice Airport (VCE). This is the airport called Marco Polo. Do not confuse it with the other airport (Treviso) which is not nearly so convenient.
Two ways to get from the Marco Polo airport to the meeting location:
- 1. Take the Alilaguna boat for St. Mark Square. From here, take the line # 1 direction Piazzale Roma and stop to Ca’ D’Oro. (This is the recommended way, just for the experience)
- 2. Take a bus (ATVO Air Terminal or autobus urbano ACTV linea n° 5) to Piazzale Roma. From here, take the line # 1 direction Piazzale Roma and stop to Ca’ D’Oro.
From Ca’ D’Oro there is only a small bridge to reach the meeting venue (at 30 m from the palace). IWA / HWG can provide staff to provide navigation assistance if needed.
