The CSS3 Ruby Module provides a number of properties for describing the placement of ruby text in relation to the base text. Note that this specification is not yet finalized, so this section will aim to give you an idea of what will be possible using this specification, rather than exhaustively listing all the capabilities.

We will use the words 'before' and 'after' with the same meaning as described earlier.

There are three main properties: ruby-position, ruby-overhang, and ruby-align.

Topics we will not discuss here include:

• the ruby-span property
• a small number of property values
• the ruby box model and a set of related values for the display property that can be used to associate arbitrary XML markup with ruby constructs defined in the Ruby Annotation specification.
