Description:

Section 6.4. PN_CHARS_BASE erases various Unicode ranges without explanation. This appears to be an attempt to eliminate combining marks and the surrogates?

We don't understand why you are doing this. Please clarify your intent so that we can give better advice here (because this is probably not doing the right thing).
