ISSUE-2313: Gzip-compressed svg in data URIs
Gzip-compressed svg in data URIs
- State:
- RAISED
- Product:
- SVG 2
- Raised by:
- Chris Lilley
- Opened on:
- 2010-03-18
- Description:
- Gzip-compressed svg is identified by "Content-Encoding: gzip" when sent over HTTP and by .svgz from the filesystem. Data URIs have Content-Type but no Content-Encoding, and no filename. But its still reasonable to require that it be decoded. There is a signature to allow identification of gzip streams from the first few bytes (magic number) so this is feasible; it kjust needs to be clarified in the spec.
Erik has a test for this, conform-viewers-02
