ISSUE-2046: Allow negative startOffset for textPath elements

negative_startoffset

Allow negative startOffset for textPath elements

State:
CLOSED
Product:
SVG 2
Raised by:
Erik Dahlström
Opened on:
2008-09-02
Description:
A negative value for the startOffset attribute can sometimes be useful, as can be seen in the example here:

http://srufaculty.sru.edu/david.dailey/svg/newstuff/textpath1.svg

If negative startOffset values are supported the text appears to continously scroll along the curve. However, such values are "in error" according to SVG 1.1, and the "lacuna" value is 0 (which is what Opera 9.5 uses in this case). I see no technical problems with allowing negative startOffset values.

Negative values are allowed in ASV.
