Wiki Software
This wiki runs on MediaWiki software. The same software that runs Wikipedia. The best place to learn how the software works is by viewing MediaWiki's help page.
How to Link Between Pages
- Enclose the name of a page in double square brackets, for example
[[Activities]]in markup will give you a link to the Activities page. If you want to modify the text contents of that link, put a pipe after the page name and then the text contents, like this:[[Activities|the Activities page]].
When and How to Make a New Topic on a New Page
How: A new page can be created by linking to a non-existing page and then clicking that link (which will be red until the page has been created). This is, perhaps, a little counter-intuitive until you get used to it.
When: As said on the Communications page, this wiki is a collaborative effort. At the moment, there are no hard-and-fast rules we are following for when to create new pages. Structure will generally work itself out as more people contribute and the contents of the wiki grows.

What HTML Markup Actually Works
- Some HTML tags are allowed, but for the most part, very little HTML markup is actually needed. For instance, paragraphs 'break' automatically, links use the square-bracket notation, etc.
When to Upload a File vs. Link to a File

Overall Organization of the Wiki
At the moment, the Main Page includes high level information regarding the Interest Group (such as charters) and then links to several other pages that focus on each topic:
- Communication - mailing list, conference bridge, irc channels, tracker, wiki
- Participants - list of participants and how to join
- Activities - page describing and linking to more specific pages of current activities the IG is working on
- Community Website Activity - planning and status page
- Accessibility Activity - planning, discussion, brainstorming and status
- (more to come)
