While this was done solely to meet our needs and not generic public use, AT&T Labs is releasing information on the freeware it assessed, including the corrections made to meet our needs. This release is being made with all the usual disclaimers, including the understanding that parts of the software not used by AT&T may not have been properly assessed, repaired, or tested. Such exceptions should be described in the documentation released with the software (no guarantees). Part of this freeware certification effort included cern httpd ver# 3.0 which we have made Y2K repairs to. Attached please find our corrections and assorted documentation (*.y2kfixes) on the program. Please understand that most freeware applications are tested in an environment integrated with proprietary AT&T applications. The results of these tests are not being published. This is not a warranty. Nor is this an authorization to use the name of AT&T or AT&T Labs as certifying the applications for public use. Use is at the users own risk. AT&T has no plans for maintaining a public web site for downloading the applications. It is our hope that the regular sites (where the applications are published at) will quickly review and the changes to make them public. If you feel it is appropriate, we can publish announcements of the changes on the various Internet news groups. Any thoughts you have on this would be appreciated.
