Project Manager [Job # 98-0114R]

Will bring together companies developing the Web to produce consensus on methods of working together, normally in the form of a specification and reference code. Duties include organizing and facilitating meetings of industry representatives; coordinating development resources; and communicating with sponsors, users, and the public.

REQUIREMENTS: extensive industry experience and strong communication and negotiation skills. Proven ability to coordinate resources across organizations under market pressures a critical advantage. A technical background and desire to work toward interoperable standards and innovations essential. Seek solid team member who can participate in the research and development process at MIT and with remote collaborators. Should understand the broader implications of design decisions and have a natural ability to facilitate interaction between disparate groups with different motivations.
