Call for Volunteers


On behalf of the conference organizing committee, the conference Volunteer Coordinators are accepting applications for a limited number of enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and hardworking people who are interested in being part of the volunteer support team at the Fourth International World Wide Web Conference, "The Web Revolution."

Volunteer Coordinators will try to create a working schedule which will allow volunteers free time to attend sessions they are most interested in attending or schedule volunteers to work at those particular sessions.

Please carefully review the information below outlining volunteer duties and benefits before volunteering your services. Interested individuals should complete the volunteer application form at the end. This information will be used to help us determine job assignments that will be interesting to you.

Volunteer Duties:

  1. Equipment transportation, set-up and break down.
  2. Network and/or audio visual assistance.
  3. Room monitor.
  4. Runners: transport materials, messages, and equipment as needed.
  5. Miscellaneous: Answer telephones and other duties TBD.

Volunteer Benefits:

  1. Waiver of Registration Fees
  2. Appreciation Dinner
  3. Out-of-Town Volunteers: Room accommodations (2-4 per rm.)
  4. During free time, volunteers will be able to attend the following: keynote speeches, paper sessions, panel sessions, Birds of a Feather (BOF) sessions, poster sessions, and the vendor exhibits.

    Note: Due to space limitations, volunteers will NOT be able to attend tutorial or workshop sessions, unless you have paid registration fees to attend or are scheduled to work a session.

  5. Breakfast and lunch on the days you work.
  6. Souvenirs: T-shirt, conference bag, conference pin, and conference proceedings.

Volunteers will not receive travel assistance or travel reimbursement to and from the conference site.
