Airline Discounts

We have arranged for some airline discounts with USAir and United Airlines for people attending the conference.

United Airlines will give a discounted fare if you tell them that you are with the "Fourth International Web Conference", and give them the following code: 556EL. In the US, you can call United's convention desk at 1-800-521-4041, or arrange your travel through Ginny Dorne at the Travel Collaborative, 1-800-370-7400 ext. 55.

Getting to the Conference Hotel

The conference is being held at the Boston Marriott Copley Place, and at the Hynes Convention Center. Directions below are to the Marriott, from which the Hynes Convention Center will be an easy and well-marked walk. It is recommended that you use public transportation whenever possible, as driving and parking in Boston can be a challenge.

From Logan Airport by public transit: You can take the airport shuttle to the MBTA, Boston's public transit system (see Getting Around Boston), which will put you at the Airport stop on the Blue line. Take the Blue line inbound to Government Center, and from there take the Green line inbound (towards Park Street). Get off at Copley.

From Logan Airport by car or taxi: Follow signs for Boston/Sumner Tunnel. Stay in left lane through the tunnel. Go north on Route 93. Take the Storrow Drive exit for 1/2 mile. Take the Copley Square exit. Turn right onto Beacon Street. Continue 4 blocks; turn left onto Exeter Street; continue through 6 traffic lights which ends at Huntington Avenue. At that point the hotel is across the street.

From the West: Take Route 95N through New York and Connecticut to Route 91N. Then follow Route 84E into Massachusetts. Travel East on the Mass. Turnpike (Route 90). Take the Prudential Center exit (#22) which exits onto Huntington Avenue West. At the first light make a U-turn to the left (East on Huntington). The hotel is in the second block on the right.

From the North: Go south on Route 93 or Route 1.

From the South: Take Route 95N through New York, Connecticut, and Rhode Island into Massachusetts. Take exit 12, which is the Boston and I93 exit. Go north on Route 3 and then 93. Take the Massahusetts Avenue/Roxbury exit (#18). Turn right onto Massachusetts Avenue. Follow through 8 traffic lights (Symphony Hall is across the street). Turn right onto Huntington Avenue. the hotel is on the right after the third traffic light.

Getting Around Boston

The best way to get around the city is to take the MBTA, Boston's subway and trolley system, otherwise known as the "T". A map of the system will show you the lines and stops. The closest stop to the conference is Copley, on the Green Line. Tokens are US$ 0.85 from any stop to any stop.
