This is an archived snapshot of W3C's public bugzilla bug tracker, decommissioned in April 2019. Please see the home page for more details.
The specification currently includes advice for marking up footnotes and tag clouds. It should do the same for dialogues and IRC logs instead of minting a new element. That should also end the confusion as to whether <dl> is intended for dialogues and does not come at the cost of an element that only addresses a minor use case.
Done.
