Description Virginia Smith 2007-11-30 16:12:32 UTC
We should consider using another term for "URI scheme" since this term is also used for the scheme subcomponent in a URI. Suggestions include:
SML URI scheme
URI reference scheme

We will use the term "SML URI Reference Scheme" - resolved in SML Call on 3/27

-------
The SML WG believes that the above proposal resolves this issue fully. I'm
changing its status accordingly.

The change in status should cause email to be sent to the originator of this
issue, to whom the following request is addressed.

Please review the changes adopted and let us know if you agree with this
resolution of your issue, by adding a comment to the issue record and changing
the Status of the issue to Closed. Or, if you do not agree with this
resolution, please add a comment explaining why. If you wish to appeal the WG's
decision to the Director, then also change the Status of the record to
Reopened. If you wish to record your dissent, but do not wish to appeal the
decision to the Director, then change the Status of the record to Closed. If we
do not hear from you in the next two weeks, we will assume you agree with the
WG decision.

App C:
Note that the second element has a child element that contains an SML URI Reference Scheme referring to course MAT100

I thought we intended to use subtly different language to refer to use of a concrete instance of a ref scheme's markup vs its "abstract" definition. IIRC it was something like "instance of the XYZ Ref Scheme". In this context, we are talking about an example (instance), not the scheme def (class).
Comment 6 Virginia Smith 2008-04-10 19:49:52 UTC
Resolution 4/10: Fix per comment #5; mark needsReview
Comment 7 Kumar Pandit 2008-04-17 18:32:14 UTC
resolution (conf call on 4/17/2008): remove the 'decided' keyword because the 2 week response period has elapsed (see comment# 3).
Comment 8 Henry S. Thompson 2008-04-18 13:39:12 UTC
I am happy with the change to "SML URI Reference Scheme"
Comment 9 Virginia Smith 2008-05-15 16:12:27 UTC
Fixed per comment #5.

The sentence
-------
Note that the second element has a child element that contains an SML URI Reference Scheme referring to course MAT100, but this reference scheme will be ignored since sml:ref="false" for the second element.
--------

now reads as
--------
Note that the second EnrolledCourse element contains an sml:uri element which satisfies the syntax of the SML URI Reference Scheme (referring to course MAT100) but this will be ignored since sml:ref="false" for this EnrolledCourse element.
--------
Comment 10 Kumar Pandit 2008-05-15 18:58:27 UTC
resolution (5/15 conf call): resolve as fixed.
