This is an archived snapshot of W3C's public bugzilla bug tracker, decommissioned in April 2019. Please see the home page for more details.
There seems to be a problem with import statements. Ex: Line: 0 Uncaught errorjava.lang.Exception: Import loop detected in http://tantek.com/CSS/Examples/highpassfilter.css
Interestingly I have the same error report for the main style sheet [1] of a web site I released this summer (it validated back in July) and I don't use high pass filter nor mid pass filter (but I plan to use this last one) [1] http://www.androuet.com/css/main.css
When it was last updated/published on 2003-10-13, the mid pass filter page validated against the CSS validator without any errors or warnings. Therefore, something broke in the CSS validator since then and now. Requests: 1. Please rollback whatever recent changes/updates to the CSS validator caused this error. 2. Please consider testing updates to the CSS validator on port 8080 as a "beta CSS validator" similar to how they do it with the HTML validator.
Tantek, try to validate http://tantek.com/CSS/Examples/midpass.html with http://qa-dev.w3.org:8001/css-validator/ It says: <<< http://tantek.com/CSS/Examples/null?\"\{: You can't import an HTML document >>> HEAD /CSS/Examples/null?\"\{ HTTP/1.1 Host: tantek.com Content-Length: 26 Content-Type: text/html
Re: comment 3: Visiting the validator URI you gave, and entering the URI you gave of the page on tantek.com, I got no such error message. The validator said it found no error or warning.
Fixed, see http://qa-dev.w3.org:8001/css-validator/
