Meeting minutes

Stable branch in AccName

no quorum for this, skipping

Next steps on AccName

1.2 CR status

Finishing testing

will discuss with WG tomorrow

need people to help out creating tests

that meet quality metrics

Testing - WPT or other platforms, sharing the load

Chromium dumps a11y tree much like the ATTAs do

can create HTML file, create expectations, it will run the tests for all browsers

this could allow us to get rid of WPT tests, which are manual, difficult to maintain

proposal that new ARIA features would require not just a test, but a test file

using this format

(would document in https://www.w3.org/WAI/ARIA/workflow)

would end up with a downloadable binary

down the road, also would like AT tests for the aria-at tests as part of the whole shebang

working on a webdriver-like tool for AT

<Jemma> https://github.com/w3c/aria-at/issues/349#issuecomment-740687349

so we have tests for ARIA, ATs, and APG patterns to put together

<Jemma> I suggest that we document this discussion - connecting ARIA, APG and AT via automated and integrated testing efforts.

<Jemma> +1 for mapping out workflow

Moving to latest version of respec

https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-aria-editors/2021Mar/0005.html

Jquery has been removed from our scripts

switch to respec-w3c instead of respec-w3c-common

requires a new event model

for our add-on scripts

respec now has a feature to ¨export¨ terms

so they can be ¨imported¨ in other specs

some terms not really used

should export terms from spec most suited, will involve ARIA, Core-AAM, AccName at least

import other terms, from other ARIA specs and other W3C specs

there´s a bit of a circular issue with cron jobs that will break things, but it´ll get fixed on next publication

there could be a period of weeks where editors´ drafts have broken references to terms

(ones that have been linked but no longer reference, or not yet exported)

impact on APG to be sorted later

need to figure out what specs should own big terms like ¨Assistive Technology¨

take to WAI-CC after we do this in ARIA

<discussion of arcana of our set-up>

Check in on moving abstract roles out of spec

<micro__> <being dealt with another way>

W3C Calendaring check-in

Using new calendar tool for ARIA WG

event gets update with agenda each week

<noodling on how it´s working for us>
