It sounds 14:14:35 .. reasonable but I want everybody's opinion because it's a bit of a clash with the recent 14:14:44 .. request we've had for TTML2, but I think we have no other solution. 14:14:56 Nigel: Okay we'll add WebVTT to the agenda. 14:15:16 Nigel: Any other business or particular points to cover today? 14:15:57 Present+ Pierre, Mike 14:16:51 Pierre: I need to drop off no later than 1 hour from now. 14:17:02 Mike: I'm also conflicted at the top of the hour. 14:17:08 Nigel: Okay let's go then! 14:17:13 Topic: TPAC 14:17:49 Nigel: Dominique reminded me that in June I offered that the TTWG would like to present a demo during the TPAC demo session on the Wednesday. 14:19:04 .. What I proposed originally was that we demonstrate the styling features in TTML that 14:19:18 .. we have and would like to see implemented also in CSS, as it's a good forum for 14:19:31 .. disseminating that information and driving interest. 14:19:53 .. What do you think? Is that a good idea? 14:20:00 pal has joined #tt 14:20:59 .. I don't mind doing it, especially if I can have some help putting it together - I guess 14:21:10 .. the thing to do would be to show the features that we think are somehow highest in 14:21:13 .. priority. 14:21:19 Pierre: Okay, yes. 14:23:01 Pierre: What about using imsc.js as the basis for that? Showing all the workarounds we 14:23:08 .. had to do to achieve the desired effects? 14:23:12 Nigel: Yes, sounds good. 14:23:25 Pierre: If we just complain for 30 minutes it wouldn't look great! 14:23:29 Nigel: +1 14:23:48 Pierre: We can think about that, find a way to make it both fun and instructive, and 14:23:55 .. highlight things we'd like to do that are difficult now. 14:24:02 Nigel: Sounds good to me. 14:24:17 Pierre: We can work offline and see if we can find a way to do it. 14:24:25 Nigel: Okay, let's do it. Anyone else want to be involved? 14:25:20 Nigel: Moving on to the agenda. 14:25:29 -> https://www.w3.org/wiki/TimedText/tpac2017 TPAC TTWG schedule wiki page 14:25:50 Nigel: Thanks for adding your names! 14:26:45 Nigel: Looking at the agenda, I don't think anyone has added anything yet, so please could 14:26:48 .. we focus on it next week? 14:27:18 ACTION: nigel Add TTWG TPAC2017 wiki page to next agenda by 2017-09-12 14:27:19 Created ACTION-505 - Add ttwg tpac2017 wiki page to next agenda by 2017-09-12 [on Nigel Megitt - due 2017-09-14]. 14:29:45 Topic: IMSC 14:30:09 Nigel: I wanted to note that on behalf of BBC I've posted our gstreamer patch as an 14:30:18 .. implementation on the implementation report page for IMSC 1.0.1 14:30:23 Pierre: Thanks for posting that 14:31:47 Nigel: It'd be good to have another pair of eyes verify the screenshot, because there's 14:32:05 .. subtlety there and it's good to have an independent view not from the contributing 14:32:07 .. organisation. 14:32:11 Pierre: I'll have a look. 14:32:13 Nigel: Thank you 14:32:25 Glenn: The two screengrabs look fine to me. 14:32:30 Nigel: Great, thank you. 14:33:06 .. Now the pressure is on to find a second implementation... 14:33:54 Glenn: We have support for activeArea already in TTV but it's just parsing it and verifying 14:33:56 .. its correctness. 14:34:03 Nigel: Formally, I think that's all that's needed. 14:34:31 .. If you could send notification of that formally to the group that would be really helpful. 14:34:35 Glenn: Okay, sure. 14:34:38 Nigel: Thank you. 14:35:19 Topic: TTML2 Review 14:35:23 action-503? 14:35:23 action-503 -- Thierry Michel to Send a reminder to groups for ttml2 review by 8th september -- due 2017-08-17 -- OPEN 14:35:23 http://www.w3.org/AudioVideo/TT/tracker/actions/503 14:35:33 Nigel: Thierry, I think you've done this? 14:35:35 Thierry: Yes I have. 14:35:39 Nigel: Thank you! 14:35:42 close action-503 14:35:42 Closed action-503. 14:37:05 Glenn: I've added horizontal review "comment disposed" to the 8 closed issues previously 14:37:20 .. labelled "horizontal review comment". This marks disposal of comments received during 14:37:40 .. the review process. For the others it wouldn't harm to have a label indicating that the 14:37:55 .. WG has reviewed it. 14:38:16 Nigel: Do you mean to indicate the WG has agreed the disposition and we are awaiting confirmation from the commenter? 14:38:46 Glenn: It would probably be useful to note that the WG reviewed the non-review issues 14:39:09 .. from within the group also. There were a number of issues posted by members that were 14:39:25 .. not marked as review comments originally. I'd say most of our issues in the past have 14:39:28 .. fallen into that category. 14:39:45 .. The alternative is I change the new label just to "WG disposed" and use that for all of 14:39:50 .. the items that the WG has reviewed. 14:40:31 .. It was not my intent to mark that we have had confirmation of the disposition from the commenter, 14:40:50 .. just that the WG has agreed what to do. 14:41:42 Nigel: My interpretation is that we need a different label for "WG disposition agreed" and the 14:42:08 .. current "comment disposed" issue means that we have given a sufficient opportunity for 14:42:41 .. the original commenter to feed back on the WG disposition. 14:42:59 .. The main user for these labels will likely be Thierry. Does this make sense to you Thierry? 14:43:17 Thierry: Yes, I'll have a look and check it makes sense and tweak the labels if needed. 14:44:11 Nigel: It might be useful to put together a wiki page explaining the process we are using 14:44:30 .. and what labels we are putting on GitHub issues to track the (not particularly changed) 14:44:45 .. process instead of using Dom's old web tool. 14:44:59 Thierry: Okay, you can give me an action for that - I've done some work already on WebVTT similarly. 14:45:20 Action: Thierry Draft a wiki page explaining our review and disposition steps and labels 14:45:22 Created ACTION-506 - Draft a wiki page explaining our review and disposition steps and labels [on Thierry Michel - due 2017-09-14]. 14:45:44 Thierry: Once we have these labels on GitHub we will be able to filter on the labels and 14:46:04 .. generate automatic dispositions of comments, or at least a list of agreed and not agreed comments? 14:46:08 Nigel: Exactly, yes. 14:47:27 Topic: WebVTT review feedback 14:47:47 Thierry: Nothing really exciting here! As Nigel said last week, I had reminded the TTML2 14:48:00 .. review to the W3C groups we have dependencies with and horizontal review and external 14:48:12 .. groups, and TTML2 review ends on Sep 30. David Singer saw this and our discussion and 14:48:24 .. asked me if I could do the same for WebVTT, and I think that's fair enough. The review 14:48:38 .. ends on 22nd September for WebVTT, but last week Nigel you had raised a concern about 14:48:53 .. having two reviews simultaneously and that it could be confusing to receive such requests 14:49:06 .. for review for two different formats within the same week but I don't see how we can 14:49:12 .. avoid that unfortunately. 14:49:16 Nigel: Neither do I! 14:49:30 Thierry: So far we have no comments from external groups either for TTML2 or WebVTT. 14:49:43 .. One or two groups have responded that they will process it during an October meeting, 14:50:00 .. but that's the only kind of answer we got (for both TTML2 and WebVTT), so a reminder 14:50:04 .. is certainly necessary. 14:50:14 .. My question is: is anyone against me taking that action? 14:50:27 .. (but I think it would be unfair to say no!) 14:50:51 Nigel: It seems that nobody wishes to be unfair, so I think you can go ahead Thierry. 14:51:12 Thierry: Okay. Also Nigel just to mention that Daniel was a bit surprised about all the 14:51:28 .. messages to team-liaisons, so he asked for a single summary email listing all the groups 14:51:43 .. to which the reminders had been sent. So I will not copy team-liaisons on purpose this time. 14:51:51 Nigel: OK, thanks, that makes sense. 14:52:52 Topic: Meeting close 14:53:17 Nigel: We've completed our agenda for today, and have no other business so I'll adjourn 14:53:36 .. the meeting. Thanks everyone. Next week, let's discuss TPAC agenda please. 14:53:41 ..
