Lisa: Olivier Bodenreider suggested that I come.
<Tony> http://wiki.hl7.org/images/f/ff/ValueSet_approach.pdf
<ericP> http://wiki.hl7.org/images/f/ff/ValueSet_approach.pdf
tony: No changes since Atlanta face-to-face meeting.
<ericP> value-set to concept, concept to syste/code
david: option 2 on line 8 is misleading. Need to reword that.
rob: List of system/code pairs may be too large to instantiate, and it may involve post-coordinated expressions that have not been created yet. So a ValueSet is a virtual set of system/code pairs.
tony: Looking at a ValueSet
definition in FHIR starting on line 18. Need to define the RDF
equivalent.
... line 91 defines fhir:CodeSystemURI
... But more useful is line 101 defines CodingBase_in_Systems
that can be used in restrictions.
... With class intersection.
... This will eliminate a lot of anonymous classes by having a
named class for this.
... 10s of thousands, all saying the same thing.
... fhir:CodingBase_in_Systems helps organize.
lisa: Would it look different if what you were herding was a SNOMED hierarchy?
tony: no.
... There are three herding classes: CodingBase_in_Systems,
CodingBase_in_Concepts and CodingBase_in_ValueSets
line 124 Concept Definition
tony: line 130, nesting maps to subclass assertions. This maps well to SNOMED class hierarchy, for example.
rob: There discussion in FHIR about making Code system its own independent resource.
dbooth: Are all nesting hierarchies representable as subclassing?
rob: no. Anatomy hierarchy "part of" shows up a lot. But SNOMED has morphed that into using subclasses anyway.
eric: LOINC axes are all subclasses?
rob: no, but some are.
... AddressPart is not a subclass.
<scribe> ACTION: Rob to look at Address / AddressPart to figure out if nesting will cause problems representing nesting as subclassing [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2015/10/13-hcls-minutes.html#action01]
<trackbot> Created ACTION-30 - Look at address / addresspart to figure out if nesting will cause problems representing nesting as subclassing [on Rob Frost - due 2015-10-20].
tony: abstract Concept will be a position in the class hierarchy
http://hl7-fhir.github.io/valueset-definitions.html#ValueSet.codeSystem.concept.abstract
tony: last one is designation

http://hl7-fhir.github.io/valueset.html
<rhausam> http://hl7.org/fhir/ValueSet/designation-use
eric: Would updating the XSLT
generator help us to see how this works?
... May help to have this in a wiki with hyperlinks to show and
try examples.
<scribe> ACTION: Tony to give EricP the word doc for ValueSets, to put into the HCLS wiki [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2015/10/13-hcls-minutes.html#action02]

<scribe> ACTION: EricP to make wiki page from Tony's ValueSet doc [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2015/10/13-hcls-minutes.html#action03]
<trackbot> Created ACTION-31 - Make wiki page from tony's valueset doc [on Eric Prud'hommeaux - due 2015-10-20].
lisa: Others here can provide more expertise on ValueSet representation - Steve Emerick
tony: Want to get through this doc first with the group, then go through it again with Steve
