MH: looked up some definitions of
accreditation
... often tends to accredit a body or person to perform certification
... just some semantic issues with the term "accreditation"
VC: agree, usually a body that certifies
MH: what about conformance?
<Vivienne> Possibly use the title of "Accessibility Declaration"
<Vivienne> It could include a declaration you make yourself - could be broadly used
SAZ: conformance is a state. a statement declares conformance (or progress towards conformance). accreditation is declaration of competency to make declarations.
YM: declarations can also include self-declarations
SAZ: limit to websites or also include the broader aspects of web accessibility?
<Vivienne> SA: do we include discussions on the accessibility of tools, UAAG etc
MH: think the latter
SAZ: think we can still keep it brief, but mention tools and people where relevant
MH: traditionally had very discrete versioning of
software
... now continually updated software

MH: how do we certify living objects?
SAZ: also applicable to certifying people
... technologies change and evolve
YM: but who certifies the certifiers?
... there are no standards and requirements
MH: AAIP working on this
SAZ: also other efforts in Europe

MH: mention the policy aspects as an incentive
for delcarations
... products and services are expected to meet certain requirements
