-------------------------------------- Position Paper of Dai Nippon Printing -------------------------------------- Dear Workshop Chairs, I am Yasuharu Kawahara from Dai Nippon Printing. Our business area includes books, magazines and variety of packages. Also these days we deal with IC cards, holograms and TV parts as well. Regarding "Printing and Publishing" area, our target includes not only ordinary magazines and books but also recently deployed digital contents, and we are engaged in all the process for that, i.e., planning, production, distribution and selling as well as promotion and customer analysis. In addition, we tackle new business areas for the next generation communication, e.g., hybrid media production solution which could be applied to the combination of paper media and electronic media. On the other hand, I myself have been working on variety of topics related to content distribution including development of publication production systems, eBooks shopping systems and content distribution platforms other than so-called eBooks. Unfortunately, I am not directly involved in eBooks business at the moment, but I'm very interested in this second W3C eBooks workshop and really would like to attend the workshop from the viewpoint of international content distribution service using Web standards.
